On the night of February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida, United States, George Zimmerman fatally shot Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old African American high school student. Zimmerman: No, you go in straight through the entrance and then you make a left...uh, you go straight in, don't turn, and make a left. Zimmerman: Down towards the other entrance to the neighborhood. Zimmerman: If they come in through the gate, tell them to go straight past the club house, and uh, straight past the club house and make a left, and then they go past the mailboxes, Oh, crap. The officers, who believed Zimmerman proceeded solely on foot before the attack, did not seize Zimmerman's vehicle until after his wife had moved it.
Zimmerman, a 28-year-old mixed race Hispanic man Zimmerman shot Martin, who was unarmed, during an altercation between the two. Dispatcher: Just let me know if he does anything, okay? Shit, he's running [background noises, possibly car door open warning chimes, heard]. Dispatcher: Which entrance is that that he's heading towards? said that the police failed to fully investigate the shooting when they did not test Zimmerman for drugs or alcohol intoxication.
Responding to an earlier call from Zimmerman, police arrived on the scene within two minutes of the shooting. Zimmerman: How long until you get an officer over here? Zimmerman: The back entrance...fucking [disputed/unintelligible] Dispatcher: Are you following him? However, Miami, Florida police experts told the Miami Herald that homicide suspects are not typically tested for drugs or alcohol unless the suspect has been accused of having been driving while intoxicated.
By Bob Lord, CISOA recent investigation by Yahoo has confirmed that a copy of certain user account information was stolen from the company’s network in late 2014 by what it believes is a state-sponsored actor.
The account information may have included names, email addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, hashed passwords (the vast majority with bcrypt) and, in some cases, encrypted or unencrypted security questions and answers.
The ongoing investigation suggests that stolen information did not include unprotected passwords, payment card data, or bank account information; payment card data and bank account information are not stored in the system that the investigation has found to be affected.
Based on the ongoing investigation, Yahoo believes that information associated with at least 500 million user accounts was stolen and the investigation has found no evidence that the state-sponsored actor is currently in Yahoo’s network.
Yahoo is working closely with law enforcement on this matter.
