The 54 hours clinical placement over a 2-3 week period will be negotiated on an individual basis for successful applicants.
Leave from the applicant’s workplace may need to be arranged to enable this placement.
Experienced sexual health RN/Ms provide mentorship throughout the placement, which uses the ASHNNA competencies for assessment.
Eligibility criteria: The Certificate in Sexual Health theory component or recognised equivalent must be completed within the preceding 12 months.
Clinical placements are prioritised for those who work in a related area, with SHine SA’s communities of interest, or have demonstrated a commitment to sexual health nursing/midwifery.
Acceptance into the clinical component is via individual application and cannot be guaranteed.
Assessment: The theory modules may also be undertaken individually as Continuing Professional Development and receive a statement of attendance with CPD hours.
